Oak Grove Upcoming Event Dates
Thank You Igor for Your Years of Service!
After 20+ years of dedicated service to the Oak Grove Homeowners Association, Igor has retired from the board. During his time with the HOA, Igor served in several key roles, including Treasurer for many years, offering his time, expertise, and commitment to the community.
We are deeply grateful for Igor’s contributions and leadership throughout the years. His efforts have helped shape Oak Grove into the vibrant neighborhood we all enjoy today.
If you see Igor around the neighborhood, please take a moment to thank him for his service and dedication.
Decorative Oak Leaf Installed
On June 3rd, the new monument was completed with the installation of the decorative leaf to match the existing monument.
A big thanks to HOA Landscaping Committee Chair, Paul Matszewski for coordinating the purchase and installation!
The OGHA Board contracted Sign Central in Lake Villa for the design, fabrication and installation.

Sidewalk Improvements
If you’ve walked near Oak Grove Park in recent years, you might have noticed that algae growth along the wooded area’s sidewalk made it incredibly slippery when wet. To reduce the risk of injury, the Oak Grove HOA Board applied a non-toxic Bio-Shield treatment to naturally restore the sidewalk. This treatment will continue to work over time, removing existing algae and preventing future growth.
HOA Board President, Bob Roig, spent two days and made twelve trips to refill the backpack sprayer, and we’re pleased to report that the treatment was successful! We extend our gratitude to Bob for his hard work in applying the solution.
Thank you for all the kind feedback and your satisfaction with the results!
Community Courtesy
As a community of neighbors and friends, let us please remember some of the basics.
- Place all trash/recycling bins out-of-sight when not at curbs for pick-up days. That means they need to be placed in garages or in a covered area on a side of your house.
- No part of any vehicle is to be parked in obstruction of the sidewalk in any way.
- Tree branches or bush branches cannot stick out into the sidewalk up to 7' above the sidewalk.
- At no point is grass height allowed to be higher than 8".
- Please keep dogs from excessive barking and on leash. The Village of Wauconda can/will assess fines.
- Debris in driveways must be removed after three days.
Any infraction of items mentioned above will receive a one-time Courtesy notice. If not remediated, homeowner will receive a fine or fines from the HOA, so let's keep our neighborhood looking beautiful!
Thank You, Volunteers on the Easement Tree Trimming!
Walk, Run, Ride, or Scoot safely along the sidewalk throughout the entire neighborhood now that all those nasty, low-hanging branches and unsightly upshoots have been removed! No more face-slapping, neck scratching limbs attacking you when trying to enjoy a stroll around the hood.
We appreciate the spontaneous and gracious team effort of the neighbors who jumped in and joined the effort when seeing the activity begin. This project is officially completed!
Volunteers
The HOA Board members always welcome help from the neighborhood. Don’t worry, they are still organized by the board members, so you can’t just show up and start a project without guidance and direction [prevents any miscues that way].
New To Oak Grove?
We love knowing who's who in the neighborhood. From your dog's name to who you are, make sure to be included in the directory and Oak Grove address map by sending your contact information to the HOA so we can keep our records as up to date as possible!
If a neighbor needs help with something or to watch their house while they're gone this comes in handy and is great for us as a community.
Thanks, it's nice to know you!
A Clarification to be Specific
Wanting to make it clear how the HOA Annual Dues work:
- HOA Annual Dues are due on January 1 of each year
- There is a 30-day grace period for payment to be made without penalty
- Payments made online or postmarked after January 31st, receive a 10% Late Fee assessed by our QuickBooks program
- Payments not made by March 1st (approx. 60 days after the due date of Jan 1) will be sent automatically to collections by our collection agency.
- Late Fees are not subject to collections.
This will be adhered to from this date going forward so please make whatever personal financial notation necessary to avoid issues in the future.
